David Ruzumna’s legal career is rooted in purpose, persistence, and a deep commitment to justice. Born and raised in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, David grew up in West LA surrounded by a dynamic urban landscape that helped shape his values and worldview. He pursued a degree in sociology at Humboldt State University, where his interest in the systems that shape society began to solidify into something more focused.
After taking a year to reflect on his next chapter, David was accepted into law school—an experience that would change the course of his life in more ways than one. Not only did he discover his professional calling, but he also met the love of his life. By 1997, just after graduating and before even sitting for the bar exam, David proposed. He passed the bar, got married, and launched his legal career all within the same remarkable year.
David began his practice at a small law firm, but his entrepreneurial spirit soon led him to establish his own law practice in 2000. Since then, he has dedicated himself to representing clients with integrity, diligence, and respect—earning a reputation for being principled and pragmatic in and out of the courtroom.
In 2012, David stepped further into the public arena by running for Superior Court Judge. While he did not advance beyond the primary, the campaign opened the door to a new dimension of service. He was appointed as a Judge Pro Tem in King County District Court, marking the beginning of a parallel path in the judiciary. His service as a pro tem judge steadily expanded across other courts and counties, eventually becoming a near full-time role—one he continued to serve in until April, 2025.
Whether advocating for clients or presiding from the bench, David has always approached the law as a tool for equity, fairness, and real-world impact. This site was created to showcase the media coverage, articles, and public features that highlight the work, values, and voice he has brought to the legal landscape for over two decades.
